minmay's addon class list If there's an addon class missing that you want in the list, tell me, and I'll add it. Remember that most addon classes can appear on NPCs, and most class addons change other features of the game as well (not always intentionally). If you download and enable all of these at once, it's nearly guaranteed to break something - and drown you in bizarre rares. ======================== = HOW TO READ THE LIST = ======================== Each class has the following ratings: Offense: * is Alchemist damage. ***** is late game Sawbutcher/Possessor/Arcane Blade damage. Defense: * is no substantive defensive abilities at all. ***** is Archmage/Paradox Mage levels of defense. Bugginess: * means I don't know of any major bugs in the addon. ***** means unplayably buggy. Keep in mind this rating only includes bugs I know about. PRoC: Short for "Power Rating of Class". This is my own estimation of the class's overall power (which may differ from others' estimation). * means I think it's about as good as the weakest vanilla class. ** means well below vanilla median ("low tier"). *** means about vanilla median. **** means well above vanilla median. ***** means I think it's nearly as good as Archmage/PM. ****** is Possessor/Adventurer. I have not played an addon class that approached this power level without being an intentional cheat class or having massive bugs. mEME: Short for "minmay's Enjoyment Minus Elves". This represents how much I like the class, after subtracting how much I like elves. Because I like elves so much, subtracting my like for them results in overflow and wraps all the way around back to the original value. * means I find the class totally uninteresting to play. *** means it's okay. ***** means I like it more than any vanilla class. Keep in mind that having serious bugs will cause this rating to plunge, so a lot of classes are going to be * and **. ======================== = THE LIST = ======================== ===== Arcanist ===== Addon: https://te4.org/games/addons/tome/arcanum-class-pack Offense: * Defense: *** Bugginess: * PRoC: **** mEME: ** Caster class with Archmage's non-elemental trees, plus a few more, and heavily nerfed Aegis. Similar to an Aether Archmage but doesn't have Stone Wall or any of the other elemental utility. ===== Bladebender (mine) ===== Addon: https://te4.org/games/addons/tome/bladebender Offense: **** Defense: *** Bugginess: * PRoC: *** mEME: N/A Melee psionic class that triple-wields daggers and makes lots of small hits. Has a Spellbinding-like category that lets you manipulate your other talents (including your racials etc.). Although this is my most recent addon class, please judge me by Harbinger or Revamped Anorithil instead of this. ===== Commando ===== Addon: https://te4.org/games/addons/tome/commando Offense: **** Defense: *** Bugginess: *** PRoC: *** mEME: ** A class that uses bows, weapons, and unarmed together. Another class that's kind of ruined by bugs. ===== Crystalist (mine) ===== Addon: https://te4.org/games/addons/tome/crystalist Offense: * Defense: **** Bugginess: ** PRoC: **** mEME: N/A "Mind caster" class with a gimmick of using gems to determine its attacks' damage types. Low damage, but has a prominent Shadow Veil-style attack. It has slightly modified Psionic / Absorption so its defensive ability is through the roof. There's some kind of bug causing gems' wielded/worn effecs to occasionally stick to characters even after the gem is taken off, but I haven't been able to reproduce this bug, only seen it on other people's characters. ===== Dark Priest ===== Addon: https://te4.org/games/addons/tome/darkpriest Offense: **** Defense: ***** Bugginess: * PRoC: ***** mEME: **** Staff combat class with Disruption Shield and Aegis plus some new defensive abilities on top of that. Really good damage too. Almost Archmage levels of OP, but I found it surprisingly fun in spite of that. ===== Deathknight ===== Addon: https://te4.org/games/addons/tome/deathknight Offense: ??? Defense: ??? Bugginess: ??? PRoC: ??? mEME: ??? Melee class that uses souls and a few undead allies. Like souls and allies? I sure don't, so I haven't played Deathknight for more than like 2 minutes, but people who do like souls and allies keep saying this class is cool. I mean, it's gotta be more fun than Necromancer at least. ===== Elementist ===== Addon: https://te4.org/games/addons/tome/arcanum-class-pack Offense: * Defense: ** Bugginess: * PRoC: * mEME: ** Caster class with Archmage's elemental trees but not its utility trees (aside from a heavily nerfed Aegis). Lots of active damage talents, but as you might have guessed from it being mostly Archmage trees, they don't do much damage. ===== Enchanter ===== Addon: https://te4.org/games/addons/tome/arcanum-class-pack Offense: ??? Defense: ??? Bugginess: **** PRoC: ??? mEME: * Melee class based around enchanting items, sometimes with permanent costs. Because the enchantments suffer from snapshotting and a lot of it straight up doesn't work (one of the talents even tells you this), I haven't pushed myself to play it long enough to figure out how powerful it is. ===== Firmamancer ===== Addon: https://te4.org/games/addons/tome/celestialoddities Offense: ** Defense: ** Bugginess: ** PRoC: * mEME: * Weak caster class themed around weather and positive/negative energy management. Has a ridiculous number of active talents. ===== Forgeknight ===== Addon: https://te4.org/games/addons/tome/forgeknight Offense: **** Defense: *** Bugginess: *** PRoC: *** mEME: ** Like Enchanter, this is a melee class based around enchanting items and has big problems with snapshotting, particularly with mutating artifacts like Cuirass of the Dark Lord. Forgeknight-enchanted items can grant you levels in a bunch of talents from other classes (like Perfect Strike, Disperse Magic, Blood Grasp). ===== Gladiator ===== Addon: https://te4.org/games/addons/tome/gladiator Offense: **** Defense: ** Bugginess: *** PRoC: ??? mEME: ** A class based on weapon swapping and using many weapon types at once. Unfortunately, the talents have a lot of bugs. ===== Harbinger (mine) ===== Addon: https://te4.org/games/addons/tome/harbinger Offense: ***** Defense: *** Bugginess: * PRoC: **** mEME: N/A Melee wilder class whose main gimmick is rewarding you for fighting many monsters at once instead of one-on-one. It also mostly ignores resources and has very few active talents. ===== Highblade ===== Addon: https://te4.org/games/addons/tome/highblade Offense: ***** Defense: ** Bugginess: * PRoC: *** mEME: ** Glass cannon weapon class with a ridiculous number of actives, most of which make melee attacks at range or in an area of effect. ===== Mage Knight (6 classes) ===== Addon: https://te4.org/games/addons/tome/mageknight Offense: *** to ***** Defense: * to **** Bugginess: ** PRoC: ** to **** mEME: ** I'm mentioning all 6 Mage Knight classes together because they're mechanically extremely similar: Arcane Blade variants where your melee attacks can trigger a bunch of different random talents instead of just one. The main difference between the subclasses is power, with Phoenix Knight being the strongest at the time of writing followed by Mana Knight. Note that having this addon enabled will also spam you with mage knight rares/randbosses, most of which do incredibly high damage, and one of which (Earth Knight) has a reflection shield. ===== Minstrel ===== Addon: https://te4.org/games/addons/tome/minstrel Offense: *** Defense: ** Bugginess: ** PRoC: ** mEME: ** A dual wielder with an emphasis on status effects. This class came out of NOWHERE and has all sorts of peculiar features, yet they all seem to be implemented more or less properly at a glance. However, it has some scaling violations that are serious enough to be considered bugs, and seriously damage the class. ===== Primal Chosen ===== Addon: https://te4.org/games/addons/tome/celestialoddities Offense: *** Defense: * Bugginess: ** PRoC: * mEME: ** If you like weak classes, this is for you. An unarmed class with poor mobility, poor defense, and mediocre damage for a melee class. Also has several talents that don't work properly, as Kamani found out the hard way. ===== Prowler ===== Addon: https://te4.org/games/addons/tome/prowler Offense: **** Defense: ** Bugginess: *** PRoC: *** mEME: ** Melee wilder class focused on using psiblades or daggers. Unfortunately, it has some serious bugs, such as talents that give you mind crits when you read their descriptions. Be very sure to disable Combat Focus before using any mind speed talent, because its mind speed penalty is far bigger than intended (it will make mental talents take 10 turns to use at high levels). ===== Radiant ===== Addon: https://te4.org/games/addons/tome/celestialoddities Offense: ****** Defense: **** Bugginess: ** PRoC: ***** mEME: ** Celestial/defiler caster themed around having like 8 different beams. Has the dubious distinction of being the only class in this list to exceed 5 stars in a category. It attains 6 digit damage around Dreadfell and 7 digit damage endgame. This is due to its Second Sun talent, which double-dips crits and damage bonuses. It also has 100% resistance penetration. It also has really good defense, but not enough defense to survive a 6/7 digit hit from its own attack, so friendly fire is the most likely thing to kill you with this class. I guess you could pick ghoul... ===== Revamped Anorithil (mine) ===== Addon: https://te4.org/games/addons/tome/revamped-anorithil Offense: *** Defense: **** Bugginess: * PRoC: **** mEME: N/A Replaces Anorithil's resource mechanic entirely and generally tries to re-imagine it as an "endurance caster" that can stay in fights for a long time and is rewarded for doing so. About 15 of Anorithil's original talents remain in some form, with the rest being replaced. ===== Ruined ===== Addon: https://te4.org/games/addons/tome/ruined Offense: *** Defense: *** Bugginess: * PRoC: *** mEME: **** Weird afflicted lightning caster. Significantly more fun than it sounds. Emphasis on crits and just hitting things with lots of lightning damage in general. Probably the one class other than Crystalist that can use The Jolt effectively. ===== Spellsword ===== Addon: https://te4.org/games/addons/tome/spellsword Offense: ***** Defense: *** Bugginess: * PRoC: **** mEME: **** Wish you could play a lightning Arcane Blade without the nagging thought in the back of your mind that Pulverizing Auger is obviously way better? Then this class is for you. It's a lot like Arcane Blade but with a much more difficult choice of element, and a much less overpowered defense than Aegis. And also with an excessive number of actives. You win some, you lose some. ===== Stargazer ===== Addon: https://te4.org/games/addons/tome/celestialoddities Offense: *** Defense: ** Bugginess: ** PRoC: ** mEME: ** Caster class themed around projectile interaction. Has a potent attack combo (see http://forums.te4.org/viewtopic.php?p=227457#p227457 ) but it can be impractical with the class's relatively poor defense. ===== Steamshaper ===== Addon: https://te4.org/games/addons/tome/steamshaper Offense: * Defense: ** Bugginess: * PRoC: * mEME: * Combines all the non-weapon talents from Embers into one class. I don't really get the point of this but apparently at least two people gave it 5 stars. ===== White Monk ===== Addon: https://te4.org/games/addons/tome/whitemonk Offense: **** Defense: *** Bugginess: * PRoC: **** mEME: ***** An unarmed fighter that makes melee attacks at range and in AoE shapes. Hits a lot of times, so glove procs are important. Very distinct and better designed than Brawler IMO. (I really hate grappling.) ===== Zephyr (mine) ===== Addon: https://te4.org/games/addons/tome/zephyr-class Offense: **** Defense: ***** Bugginess: * PRoC: ***** mEME: N/A Basically, this is an archer Arcane Blade. It shoots arrows that reach their targets instantly and trigger Lightning and Chain Lightning casts. Instead of Aegis it has a "reverse Disruption Shield" that drains mana as you take damage instead of replenishing it. Fatigue, Defense, and max mana capacity are heavily emphasized. I made this class way too strong and it nearly rivals AB in power.
